Stevie Wonder is hitting the road and performing ten dates ahead of the November 5 presidential election. Called the “Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart” tour, the musician will stop in both swing states and major East Coast cities throughout October. Tickets go on sale today, and a select amount of free tickets will be available “to those in our communities who are already working tirelessly to fix our nation’s broken heart.”

Wonder’s tour kicks off on Tuesday, October 8 in Pittsburg, PA before stopping in New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. The show will then stop in Greensboro, NC, Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis. It concludes in Grand Rapids, MI on October 30.

The artist has maintained an active presence in the 2024 election. In August, Wonder took to the stage of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. “This year I pray very hard for peace to come to our world’s nations,” he said, in part, before launching into a performance of his 1973 hit “Higher Ground.” “Beyond prayer, I know the importance of action, and now is the time to understand where we are, and what it will take to win.”

On September 1, Wonder released the politically-tinged song “Can We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart,” a plea for people to put aside their differences, love one another, and leave the world a better place for future generations. The track also lends its name to the tour, and will presumably take a prominent place in the setlist.

It’s been nearly a decade since Wonder last toured, though that one was much bigger in scope. His “Songs In The Key Of Life” hit 44 dates from November 2014 through November 2015, and specifically honored his 1976 album Songs In The Key Of Life ahead of its then-upcoming 40th anniversary. Wonder performed the album in its entirety, with an intermission and encore.

More recently, Wonder was the subject of a seven-episode podcast series The Wonder of Stevie. The series focused on Wonder’s “classic period,” from 1972-1976, and was hosted by Pulitzer Prize-winning culture critic Wesley Morris. In addition to exclusive conversations with Wonder, the show featured President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, and Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, among many others.
