Spice Girls Announce ‘The Singles Collection’ Box Set
The set brings all the group’s singles together in one collection for the first time ever.
It is once again time to spice up your life. The Spice Girls have announced The Singles Collection, a box set bringing together all the group’s singles for the first time ever.
The Singles Collection assembles the Spice Girls’ singles, original artwork, B-sides, and previously unreleased recordings from the group’s archive in a handbag-inspired box, finished in white holographic gloss and maC black foil.
The vinyl edition includes 14 individually coloured 7” vinyl records featuring all the Spice Girls’ original singles and their lead B-sides, plus 14 sleeves featuring the original single artwork. There are also bonus discs featuring “Step To Me” and “Tell Me Why”; two previously unreleased demos including one of their earliest recordings, “Do You Think About Me”; a limited-edition numbering card; five collectable art cards; a 28-page booklet featuring brand-new messages from all five Spice Girls; and an exclusive Spice Girls 30th anniversary acrylic charm.
The Singles Collection is also available as a 14-CD set featuring 160 tracks. The discs are filled out with the original singles, complete B-sides, and rare remixes, plus the “Step To Me” and “Tell Me Why” bonus discs and an exclusive disc featuring four previously unreleased tracks including “Do You Think About Me.” Like the vinyl set, the CD edition comes with a limited-edition numbering card, five collectable art cards, and an acrylic charm. Here, the booklet with the brand-new messages from all five Spice Girls expands to 32 pages.
The box set’s Nov. 6 release will be 30 years to the week from the release of SPICE, the Spice Girls’ game-changing debut album, and the launch of their global “GIRL POWER” movement. “Meant to match their show of positivity, their favorite two words weren’t about one gender superseding the other,” Rachel Brodsky wrote in a retrospective at Paste. “It was only ever about women supporting and loving one another.”
