Eric Church Reflects On Touring With New Single ‘Life On The Road’
The track was produced by Church’s longtime collaborator Jay Joyce.

Written by Church and produced by longtime collaborator Jay Joyce, “On The Road” finds the singer reckoning with his work as a professional musician and the legacy he’s leaving for generations to come.
“There’s something about a life on the road where the miles start to blur together, yet the people and the moments never do,” said Church. “Those are the things you carry with you. You realize how much of who you are was shaped somewhere between one town and the next, and maybe that’s why you never really stop wondering what’s waiting down the road.”
In an interview with CBS Mornings earlier this year, Church further examined his relationship to touring. He said, “First of all, I think it’s an honor to be anything that you do a long time. To be able to do music… it was such a moonshot for me to ever be able to have one successful song or one successful album. I feel like the more successful you are, the more you should push that boundary.”
He added: “That comes from the artists that I grew up with that had that creative compass. To me, people sometimes when they get successful, they pull back, and they do what made them successful. Because they are making money and they stay there. I think that’s the time that you do push the boundaries.”
Prior to “Life On The Road,” Church unveiled a live album, Evangeline vs. The Machine: Comes Alive (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) in February. The 19-track recording of Church’s two performances at The Pinnacle in Nashville, Tennessee in May 2025 arrived alongside a film of the same name. The movie premiered exclusively in IMAX theatres across the U.S. and Canada.
