Roxy Music’s 1972 Performance Of ‘In Every Dream Home A Heartache’ Arrives On YouTube
The new reissue of ‘For Your Pleasure’ will arrive on November 6.
With Roxy Music’s deluxe reissue of For Your Pleasure set to arrive on November 6, the band has unveiled a live performance video of “In Every Dream Home A Heartache,” performed on The Old Grey Whistle Test in April of 1972.

Bandleader Bryan Ferry has described the song as about a “guy who has everything but has nothing,” and has also included it among essential Roxy Music songs. In a 2019 interview with Forbes, he was asked to share entryways into his catalog. He said, “…‘In Every Dream A Heartache’ I’d always say that one.”
The new edition of For Your Pleasure will be released via EMI, and comes alongside a number of exciting treats for Roxy Music devotees.
The classic 2LP version features the original album plus AIR Studios outtakes on 140g black vinyl in a gatefold sleeve. The 2LP pressed to Blue Pearl vinyl is a limited edition and also comes with the AIR Studios outtakes. It’s also housed in a gatefold sleeve.
On CD, the release is available in both 3CD + DVD and 2CD sets. The former includes the original album, singles, and instrumentals; unheard songwriting demos, rehearsals, and live sessions; TV and live performances from 1972–1973; and a 116-page book with new essays and rare photography. The 2CD package is highlighted by the original album, plus AIR Studios outtakes, singles, and BBC sessions, showcased in a hardcover digibook with a new essay and previously unseen images.
For Your Pleasure peaked at No.4 on the UK Albums Chart upon its release, and has since been certified Gold in the country. The album is notably the last to feature Brian Eno as a bandmember. Led by Bryan Ferry, the group also included Eno, Andy Mackay, Phil Manzanera, and Paul Thompson.
The album was included in NME’s “500 Greatest Albums of All-Time” list, being described as, “…the pinnacle of English art rock, mixing pop sensibilities with a brash experimental spirit, its songs about new dance crazes and inflatable doll lust attracting attention from devotees such as Morrissey.”
