Brenda Lee’s 1983 single “Didn’t We Do It Good” has made its digital debut in a newly remastered version. Her first official music video, originally released to accompany the song, has also been upgraded to HD and is available on her YouTube channel. The release concludes a summer catalog initiative that made 13 of her albums from the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s available to stream and download for the first time.

Written by Don Rice and Sharon Rice and produced by Jerry Crutchfield, “Didn’t We Do It Good” reached No. 75 on the U.S. country chart. Its accompanying video introduced Lee to the music video format after nearly three decades of recording across pop, rock ’n’ roll, and country. The remaster brings the single to digital services alongside the albums restored to availability through the Decades series.

Issued in three volumes between May and August, Decades included four 1960s albums: Too Many Rivers (1965), Brenda Lee Sings Top Teen Hits (1965), Coming On Strong (1966), and Johnny One Time (1969). The 1970s selections were Memphis Portrait (1970), New Sunrise (1973), Brenda (1973), Now (1974), and L.A. Sessions (1976). Four albums represented the following decade: Even Better (1980), Take Me Back (1980), Only When I Laugh (1981), and Feels So Right (1985).

The releases document Lee’s shift from pop chart success toward country music. After signing with Decca Records before her 12th birthday, she recorded hits including “Sweet Nothin’s,” “I’m Sorry,” and “All Alone Am I.” Her later country recordings included “Sunday Sunrise” and “Big Four Poster Bed,” followed in the 1980s by “I Love Her So,” a duet with George Jones.

Separately, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is available exclusively at Target on 4-inch Tiny Vinyl, with “Papa Noël” on the B-side. Originally released in 1958, the Johnny Marks-written song marks its 68th anniversary in 2026. It first reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2023, 65 years after its release, becoming Lee’s third chart-topper.
