Toby Keith Unveils Live Video For ‘Should’ve Been A Cowboy’

The clip contains images from dozens of his live performances, many at overseas bases that he has visited on his 11 USO Tours.

Country giant Toby Keith has unveiled a new video for his classic track ‘Should’ve Been A Cowboy’ for Veterans Day weekend. The clip made its debut on CMT Hot 20 on Saturday (10), to honour Veterans Day weekend, in advance of the 30 November release of Should’ve Been A Cowboy [25th Anniversary Edition], an expanded and renamed edition of Keith’s eponymous debut album of 1993.

The video contains images from dozens of the star’s live performances, many of them at overseas operating bases that he has visited on his 11 USO Tours. These totalled more than 285 events for nearly 256,000 troops and military families.

Digital pre-orders of the album include the latest instant gratification track, ‘I’ll Still Call You Baby,’ which is now available alongside the previously released title track. Both have been remastered for this anniversary release. The new edition of Keith’s first LP will add three archive tracks, ‘Tossin’ And Turnin’,’ ‘I’ll Still Call You Baby’ and ‘Daddy Mac.’

Toby Keith packshotReleased in April 1993, the album featured the country chart-topping ‘Should’ve Been A Cowboy’ as well as three further top three hits. The LP was certified platinum by the RIAA in October 1994.

Keith will perform two shows at Nashville’s celebrated Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium on 7 December. The following night, he will play the Nashville Symphony’s 34th Annual Symphony Ball, where he will receive their 2018 Harmony Award. This recognises an individual who exemplifies the harmonious spirit of Nashville’s musical community.

More video releases for the biggest hits from the debut set are also on the way. Remastered promos  for ‘A Little Less Talk And A Lot More Action,’ ‘He Ain’t Worth Missing’ and ‘Wish I Didn’t Know Now’ will appear simultaneously with the album release on 30 November.

The Grand Ole Opry, presented by Humana, mounts performances every Friday and Saturday of the year, with Tuesday night shows until 11 December.
