Action Bronson has released a new album Cocodrillo Turbo via Loma Vista Recordings, plus an eleven-minute short film titled Spirit Crocodile.
Directed by Jason Goldwatch (Pusha T, Jay Z, Kid Cudi, Nas, The Roots) the short film digs into the essence of Cocodrillo Turbo and why the reptile is important to Bronsolino’s process. The images and footage are filtered through the lens of psychedelia as music from the album soundtracks it.
Cocodrillo Turbo includes features from Conway The Machine, Roc Marciano, Hologram, and Meyhem Lauren, with production from The Alchemist, Daringer, Roc Marciano, and Action Bronson. The album has a physical release date of October 7. To celebrate the release, Bronson is also embarking on legs two and three of his NBA Leather tour, alongside Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist.
Action Bronson isn’t anyone’s idea of an underdog with a slew of critical acclaim, a New York Times bestseller, successful TV shows, and a decade-plus long career where he’s proved time and time again why he is one of the best MCs of our time. And yet, on his brilliant new album, Cocodrillo Turbo, he sets out to prove that his lingual versatility is stronger than it’s ever been. “I don’t feel like I’m given the fucking respect that I deserve,” Bronson explains. Cocodrillo Turbo is Bronson demanding that respect. Cocodrillo Turbo a record that hits immediately, but rewards deep listening and close readings.
