Beck has joined forces with U2 to remix a new version of ‘Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way’, from the band’s current album, Songs of Experience, released through Island Records. You can listen to it below.
Beck previously collaborated with U2 on an exclusive remix of ‘Lights of Home (Free Yourself/Beck Remix)’ released to mark Record Store Day earlier this year. The Grammy Award winning musician also supported U2 on last year’s acclaimed stadium run with The Joshua Tree Tour 2017.
U2 are currently on tour in North America with the ground-breaking eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour which sees “U2 still fighting for the American Dream” as the New York Times said in their recent review. The band stopped by Jack White’s Third Man Records in Nashville earlier this week to record a stripped-down version of ‘Love Is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way’. The session is due to receive a limited edition vinyl release. Details of this release will be available soon.
As uDiscover Music previously reported, U2 recently released an augmented reality app, which allows fans a “specially curated audio visual experience” as part of their eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour.
While other bands and artists are discouraging or even outright banning fans from using their smartphones during concerts and live performances, Bono and company are encouraging their fans to make their phones a part of the show.
The U2 eXPeRIENCE audio visual app, which is now available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play, offers the experience of a live show right in the comfort of one’s home. The app features previews of the band’s concert in AR by pointing the camera to the cover art of Songs Of Experience.
The US leg of U2’s current tour concludes on 3 July, but the tour visits Europe later in 2018, with the European dates commencing in Berlin in September.
