Published on

Deep Purple have announced a new set of UK dates for late next year, in support their forthcoming album inFinite, which will be released by earMusic early in 2017. The first single from the album will be released on 20 January.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will play five UK shows on The Long Goodbye Tour next November, supported by Europe. Although there’s no officlal word, the title of the tour will give credence to the idea that Purple may be planning a slow conclusion to their epic career. Tickets for the UK shows will go on sale next Friday (9).

The band’s total album sales worldwide are now estimated at 120 million, and the current line-up of Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse and Don Airey sold over half a million copies of their last studio album, NOW WHAT?! The band have also sold more than a million tickets for their live shows since the album was released in the spring of 2013.

To further underline Purple’s enduring, wide appeal, their videos From the Setting Sun…(In Wacken) and …To the Rising Sun (In Tokyo) entered the UK music video charts at No.1 and 2 recently.

The UK dates for 2017 are:

17 November: Birmingham Barclaycard Arena
18 November: Manchester Arena
20 November: Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
22 November: Glasgow SSE Hydro
23 November: London O2
