Doves Announce New Summer 2021 UK Tour Dates
The band’s new shows are at Halifax’s Piece Hall and in Cheshire’s Delamere Forest in July next year.
Doves have announced details of two outdoor UK dates for next summer. The new gigs will take place across two days in late June 2021. First, the band will play the Piece Hall in Halifax on June 19, before heading to Delamere Forest in Cheshire the next evening.
Doves’ newly-announced dates, which follow an existing headline tour set for March and April, come in support of the band’s recent comeback album The Universal Want.
Support for the Piece Hall gig will come from Nadine Shah, Pip Blom and Sfven. Tickets for both dates go on sale at 9am GMT this Friday (November 6). Visit the band’s official website for further information.
On its release in September, Doves’ latest album, The Universal Want shot straight to number one, outselling their four nearest rivals combined.
Last week, Doves’ Jimi Goodwin has now added vocals to three fans’ new reinterpretations of “Forest House” from The Universal Want.
Back in August, Doves “leaked” the lyrics and sheet music for their then-unreleased track, asking fans to perform their own instrumental interpretations.
After calling on musicians of all abilities to interpret the as-yet-unreleased track to see if they could get close to the album version of “Forest House”, “or create something wildly and brilliantly off-the-mark,” the band’s singer Jimi Goodwin promised to add his own vocals to the best entry.
