Eminem Performs Medley Of Hits During ‘Saturday Night Live’ Slot

Eminem Saturday Night Live

Eminem performed a dramatic medley of tracks during a memorable performance on last night’s edition of US TV’s Saturday Night Live.

The Detroit rapper unveiled his new Beyonce-featuring comeback single ‘Walk On Water’ last week (November 10), following persistent rumours that he was about to release new music. He then gave the song its first live airing with a performance at the MTV EMA Awards in London.

Last night, in support of his new material, Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) appeared as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live – with Chance The Rapper taking on presenting duties for the first time.

Marking his seventh appearance on the huge US show, Mathers – backed by an orchestra – offered a live rendition of ‘Walk On Water’, before segueing into the 1999 hit ‘Stan’ and 2010’s ‘Love The Way You Lie’. Skylar Grey, who wrote ‘Walk On Water’, joined the rapper on stage to sing the choruses on the collaborative songs. The current series of SNL has also seen performances from Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus.

Eminem’s new album is believed to be called ‘Revival’, with its title seemingly revealed by a marketing campaign involving fake pharmaceutical adverts. Despite persistent media rumours, however, this is yet to be officially confirmed. Fans, however, have speculated that ‘Revival’ will complete Eminem’s trilogy of albums following 2009’s ‘Relapse’ and 2010’s ‘Recovery’. It would also be the rapper’s first release since 2013’s ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’.

Elsewhere, Eminem has called out US President Donald Trump for not responding to his recent BET freestyle.

As previously reported on uDiscover Music, last month saw the rapper slam Trump in a cypher freestyle at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. As part of the show’s long-running cypher series, Eminem took the opportunity to address Trump, taking on topics including the NFL protest, America’s recent spate of hurricanes, Trump’s lavish trips to “his golf resorts and his mansions” and more.

Speaking to Shade 45 in a recent Sirius XM interview, Eminem said: “I was and am still extremely angry. I feel like he (Trump) isn’t paying attention to me. I was kinda waiting for him to say something, and for some reason, he didn’t say anything.”
