Paul McCartney has released the first music video off his new album Egypt Station that dropped last Friday (7 September) for the single ‘Fuh You’

Shot in his hometown of Liverpool, the black-and-white clips follows a teenage boy named Jamie after he drops his date off at home and gets shooed away by the girl’s mother. Grinning ear to ear, he makes his way around the gritty town to the bouncy piano and harpsichord tune, lip synching along to the lyrics.

Despite the song’s raunchy implications, the video has a more G-rated feel with its fresh-face protagonists.

McCartney shared the song’s origin in a previous statement saying:

“With this one I was in the studio with Ryan Tedder whereas the rest of the album has been made with Greg Kurstin. We were just thinking of ideas and little pieces of melody and chords and the song just came together bit by bit. And then I would try and make some kind of sense of the story. So that was the basic idea and it developed from there… sort of a love song, but a raunchy love song. There you go – fuh you.”

Egypt Station marks McCartney’s first album in five years, since 2013’s NEW. The former Beatle celebrated the release of his eighteenth studio album with a surprise concert at Grand Central Station in New York City, where he performed ‘Fuh You’ as well as other tracks of the new album and old Beatles classics such as ‘Lady Madonna’, ‘Let It Be’ and ‘Blackbird’, among others.

McCartney will be headed out on a full world tour to support the new album and is continuously adding dates to his itinerary, including three additional US dates today in New Orleans, Fort Wayne and Phoenix.
