Following the success of his headlining slot at Austin City Limits in October, Paul McCartney has announced four additional U.S. stadium dates. The legendary ex-Beatle will play a total of 12 dates on the US leg of his Freshen Up tour.
The four new dates include McCartney’s first-ever appearances at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconson, on June 8 and Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, on June 14. On June 22 and July 13, meanwhile, McCartney will return to Petco Park in San Diego and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, both of which hosted McCartney performances to capacity crowds on his 2014 Out There tour.
The Freshen Up tour is in support of McCartney’s latest studio album. With the release of his much-acclaimed studio album Egypt Station via Capitol Records on 7 September, McCartney attained his first No. 1 US debut in over 36 years.
The former Beatle’s live performances have been lauded for the expansive catalog he is able to play on stage. For three hours of music each night, McCartney draws from his solo career, along with tracks from The Beatles and Wings.
This newest U.S. tour will kick off on May 23 at Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans and hit South Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois, before closing out with two shows in California.
Tickets will be on sale for the new dates at 10 a.m. local time on Thursday, 13 December with the exception of Green Bay, which will be on sale 10 a.m. local time on Monday, 10 December.
Paul McCartney is currently playing the European leg of his Freshen Up tour. He returns to Liverpool for a hotly-anticipated homecoming show at the Echo Arena on 12 December, before playing the SSE Arena in Glasgow on 14 December and then London’s O2 Arena on 16 December.
