After making waves at the box office, the newest Marvel film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse delivered a killer soundtrack including the Billboard Hot 100 hit ‘Sunflower’ featuring Post Malone and Swae Lee’s.
Today the super duo have released a new music video for the hit track, featuring a goofy behind-the-scenes footage of the two recording in the studio and performing onstage together.
In the black and white footage, the two trade melodic verses and Malone looks particularly clean cut, looking dapper in a turtleneck.
“Me and this guy right here, he’s the genius behind everything and we’re just makin’ trouble,” Malone tells the camera in a clip that introduces the video.
This is the not the first time the two have collaborated, with Lee making an appearance on the track ‘Spoil My Night’ off Malone’s Grammy nominated album Beerbongs & Bentleys.
While Malone had been teasing that he would be dropping new material before the end of 2018, he did share in a recent interview with Hits Daily Double that he plans more breaking more genre boundaries in 2019:
“There are no genres anymore. If a song makes you feel nice or it makes you feel sad or if it makes you feel anything, what does it really matter what category it is?”
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has been a critical and commercial smash following its release. It opened at No. 1 at the box office and recently nabbed the Best Animated Feature award at the Golden Globes.
The soundtrack to Spider-Verse boasts a who’s who of hip-hop and R&B stars including Nicki Minaj, Little Wayne and Juice WRLD, among others.
Meanwhile, Malone will also be making an appearance at NBC’s upcoming Elvis All-Star Tribute and will be joined by Ed Sheeran, Carrie Underwood, Shawn Mendes and a host of other talents.
