Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium will be hosting the music event “Freedom Experience” as part of 1DayLA’s COVID-19 service event featuring the headlining artists Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Tori Kelly and Jaden Smith. The event will be held at the stadium on July 24 and is set to be hosted by Jason Kennedy.
“1DayLA and The Freedom Experience live concert event showcase the power and beauty of a city coming together,” said 1DayLA’s Dominic Russo. “In the wake of a sustained season of crisis and isolation, people desperately need authentic expressions of hope, help, and love. This will be an unforgettable opportunity to celebrate and dynamically impact communities across Los Angeles.”
The “Freedom Experience” show will be held with the goal of mobilizing 20,000 volunteers in Southern California to assist with back-to-school events, beautification projects, homeless assistance, medical clinics, and aid distribution. Those who volunteer to complete at least three service hours can register for the event on the official 1DayLA website for a registration fee that benefits the organization and includes official 1DayLA memorabilia.
In addition to Bieber, Kelly, Smith, and Chance the Rapper, the “Freedom Experience” show will also feature appearances from Chandler Moore and Kari Jobe.
Bieber is said to have been drawn to the event due to “his strong and long-held belief that giving of ourselves in service to others is one of the most important things we can do,” the organization shared in a statement. “Bieber is committed to the powerful idea that a movement for change can start with individuals helping one another and their community.”
1DayLA is set to invest tens of thousands of service hours to the benefit of multiple counties in Los Angeles. More than 10,000 individuals and over 600 organizations have committed to participating and 1DayLA volunteers are made eligible for “Freedom Experience” special event passes.
