Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato And Beyoncé Join Star-Studded YouTube Graduation

The artists will join ‘Dear Class Of 2020’’s inspiring lineup that includes President Obama, Lady Gaga And BTS.

A new round of high-profile speakers have been added to YouTube Originals’ Dear Class Of 2020 live-stream, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Demi Lovato, Finneas and Jennifer Lopez. The 6 June virtual graduation ceremony will offer commencement speeches and performances from a diverse lineup of artists, thought leaders, politicians and tastemakers, including President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

The event, which will begin at noon PST, is scheduled to run for several hours, while programming from Michelle Obama’s Higher Reach Initiative, which inspires every student in America to complete their education past high school, will launch the virtual ceremony.

Appearances will also be made by Bill and Melinda Gates, Kevin Durant, Andy Cohen, Ciara, Yara Shahidi and Michael Strahan. A selection of YouTube creators will join the mix as well, including NikkieTutorials, Emma Chamberlain, John Green and Mark Rober.

In addition to speaking at the event, BTS will lead a virtual afterparty, along with Doja Cat, CNCO and Megan Thee Stallion. Performers during the ceremony will include Camila Cabello, Lizzo, Chloe x Halle and Maluma.

Previously confirmed participants include activist Malala Yousafzai, Alicia Keys, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Kerry Washington, Zendaya and former Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates.

Ahead of the ceremony, graduating students across the country are encouraged to submit videos covering a range of categories, including shout-outs to beloved teachers, favourite school memories, or even of videos capturing their cheering families. All submissions must be made by Friday, 22 May, while select videos will be shown during the broadcast.

In addition to her forthcoming appearance at Dear Class Of 2020, Taylor Swift has been busy keeping her fans entertained with content throughout the quarantine. Over the weekend, her City Of Lover Concert film premiered on ABC. The film captured Swift’s show at the Olympia Music Hall in Paris last September, where she performed many of the deeper cuts from her 2019 album, Lover. City Of Lover Concert is currently available to stream globally on Disney+.

In conjunction with the film, Swift released a handful of live songs off Lover to streaming services, including ‘ME!’, ‘You Need To Calm Down’, ‘Death By A Thousand Cuts’, ‘The Archer’, ‘Daylight’, ‘Cornelia Street’ and the title track.
