The group addressed their fanbase (referred to as “ONCE”) in a statement. “We wanted to show a different side of us to ONCE with the English version of ‘I Can’t Stop Me.’ We (TWICE) are always growing as a group, and love to keep our relationship with ONCE close to us and around the world!”

Last night, the South Korean girl group made their debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where they offered a remote performance of “I Can’t Stop Me.”

TWICE (which is made up of members Chaeyoung, Jeongyeon, Tzuyu, Nayeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, and Dahyun) was formed in 2015 through JYP Entertainment. The nine-piece quickly became one of the highest-selling groups in South Korea before signing to Republic Records and bringing their infectious dance-pop to the US.

Released digitally on the week of their fifth anniversary together, Eyes Wide Open marks TWICE’s second full-length album. For the LP’s 13 songs, the band members found themselves influenced by a variety of retro sounds – particularly those of the 1980s. To bring their vision to life, the group collaborated with several prominent songwriters and producers in the pop universe, including Dua Lipa, Ki Fitzgerald of Busted, Korean superstar Heize, and British songwriter, artist, and producer MNEK (Selena Gomez, H.E.R., Madonna).

Well worth the wait, the hotly-anticipated title debuted at No. 8 on Billboard’s World Albums chart, while it peaked at No.2 in South Korea and No.3 in Japan. MTV praised that Eyes Wide Open “proves TWICE to be a force to be reckoned with, showcasing each members’ abilities to vocally and visually adapt to challenge genres and concepts.” A physical edition of the best-selling album hits stores this Friday.
