Nas has announced King’s Disease II, a “sequel” album to his Grammy-winning LP King’s Disease that he released last August. The new album will be released on August 6 at midnight EST via Mass Appeal Records.

The rapper shared the cover art for the album on Thursday but did not specify the tracklisting or collaborations to be featured on King’s Disease II.

The album King’s Disease was released to critical acclaim, with NME calling it “a stately and royal return to form for rap’s original scholar.” Consequence of Sound also said of the album, “King’s Disease delivers a feel appropriate for the times and hits the mark as being one of the better rap albums of the year.”

Following his 2018 studio album, Nasir, and 2019’s compilation The Lost Tapes II LP, the Hit Boy-produced King’s Disease features appearances by Charlie Wilson, Anderson .Paak, Big Sean, The Firm, Lil Dirk, and A$AP Ferg, among others.

Back in May, Nas, Mayor Bill de Blasio, LL Cool J, Fat Joe, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, City Council Member Diana Ayala, numerous city agencies, and hip hop luminaries took part in the official groundbreaking event for the first phase of Bronx Point. The event took place on May 20, at the future home of Bronx Point at 50 East 150th Street in The Bronx.

Bronx Point’s first phase will deliver 542 units of permanently affordable housing to the Lower Concourse neighborhood, along with approximately 2.8 acres of public open space. Additionally, the project will deliver an array of cultural and community-focused programming, including the permanent home of the Universal Hip Hop Museum, an early childhood space run by BronxWorks, and outdoor science programming run by the Billion Oyster Project. S9 Architecture led the design of the 22-story project, and the open space was designed by Marvel Architects in collaboration with Abel Bainnson Butz. Phase one of Bronx Point is expected to be completed by late 2023.
