GRAMMY Award-winning singer and songwriter Finneas has returned with “Naked,” his first single since the arrival of his debut album Optimist, released October 15 via Interscope Records. The track pairs with a luminous music video filmed in New York City with director Sam Bennett that finds Finneas warping and distorting to the flow of the rhythm over the course of its duration.

“If I don’t feel it I don’t fake it / If I’m being real it was overrated / If I know the deal then I won’t take it / I can’t believe you’ve seen me naked,” he sings on the infectiously catchy hook while dancing around a performance space all on his own.

“Naked” details the reality of post-breakup disillusionment on every scale as Finneas declares: “All that time spent with my therapist / Talking over all your arrogance / Told her how you loved to drink and drive / All that footage I got rid of it / But I bet somewhere you’ve hidden it / Just like you to bury me alive.”

The single arrives just weeks in advance of the singer’s double Coachella performances scheduled for April 17 and 24 on his own and April 16 and 23 with headliner Billie Eilish. Ahead of the festival, Finneas will go up for Best New Artist as well as Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, and Song Of The Year at the 64s annual GRAMMY Awards, celebrating his solo work in addition to his contributions to Eilish’s sophomore record Happier Than Ever. The pair are also nominated at this year’s Academy Awards for Best Original Song for the James Bond theme “No Time To Die.”

“Naked” also follows the release of Finneas’ two Spotify Singles recordings, which featured an acoustic rendition of the Optimist track “Medieval” and a reimagined cover of Bon Iver’s “Flume.”
