The rapper’s 2013 team up with Future and Drake has achieved a rarified milestone on the streaming service.

Lil Wayne’s “Love Me” is the latest track to join the Spotify Billions Club. The song, which features Drake and Future, appeared on Lil Wayne’s 10th studio album, 2013’s I Am Not a Human Being II.

Produced by Mike WiLL Made It and A+ the song was Lil Wayne’s 18th top 10 hit and peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also Future’s first top 10 hit and most successful single until 2017’s “Mask Off.” Future kicks off the track with the memorable line “I’m on that good kush and alcohol.”

In 2012, Lil Wayne was a well-established hitmaker. In 2011 he dropped Tha Carter IV, which featured the singles “6 Foot 7 Foot” and “She Will” featuring Drake. Drake, for his part, had placed 18 songs on the Hot 100 in 2013 alone, either as a featured artist or featured guest.

Many would try to replicate the easygoing posse cut composed of current and emerging stars, but “Love Me” was an exceptional success.

“Love Me” is Lil Wayne’s third song to surpass one billion Spotify streams, following “Sucker for Pain” and “I’m the One” alongside Justin Bieber, Quavo, and Chance the Rapper. It marks Future’s fifth and Drake’s twenty-fifth song to achieve the milestone.

In February, it was revealed that Lil Wayne’s long-awaited Tha Carter VI is set to arrive on June 6th, 2025.

Wayne headlined the 2024 Roots Picnic—where he performed with The Roots, PJ Morton and Trombone Shorty— and the 2023 MTV VMAs. After Kendrick Lamar was announced as the Super Bowl LIX halftime show performer late last year, Lil Wayne expressed disappointment at not being selected to play the event in his hometown of New Orleans. “I thought there was nothing better than that spot, on that stage, on that platform,” he shared in an Instagram video. “It broke me, but I’m just trying to put myself back together.” He’s since starred in a Cetaphil Super Bowl commercial poking fun at the situation.
