The original album, entitled Procol Harum Live: In Concert With The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra was recorded at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, Canada in November 1971. It featured many of the band’s best-known songs including ‘Conquistador’, ‘A Salty Dog’ and the epic ‘In Held ‘Twas In I’. The album peaked at No. 5 on North America’s Billboard Top 200 album chart and remains the best-selling album in Procol Harum’s history.

Originally formed in 1967, Procol Harum are arguably best known for their 1967 hit single ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’, widely regarded as a considered a classic in popular music and one of the few singles to have sold over 10 million copies. Although noted for their baroque and classical influence, Procol Harum’s music also embraces the blues, R&B, and soul. They enjoyed consistent success in the late 1960s and early ‘70s, with albums such as Shine On Brightly, A Salty Dog, Home, Broken Barricades and Grand Hotel all peaking inside the UK Top 40 album chart between 1968 and 1973.

The band celebrated their 50th anniversary last year, in which they released their latest album, Novum. They are also the subject of a new eight-disc, career-spanning box set, Still There’ll Be More.

Tickets for Procol Harum’s Palladium show range from £30 to £75 and they are set to go on pre-sale this coming Thursday, 15 March. General ticket sale then begins on Friday, 16 March through the Ticketmaster website.
