Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson & Family, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, and Valerie June will be among the performers at the brand new Palomino Festival, slated to be the largest Americana and roots music event in Southern California. The inaugural, one-day event will take place on Saturday, July 9 at Pasadena’s Brookside at the Rose Bowl, and is presented by Goldenvoice, the promoters behind such massive music festivals as Coachella and Stagecoach.

“It has been a dream for as long as I can remember to do a festival taking a modern, fresh approach to today’s alt-country music,” Goldenvoice talent buyer Stacy Vee said in a statement. “Artists in the space have been pushing boundaries [and] creating sounds that are brand new. I wanted to fan these flames and celebrate this changing culture. We at Goldenvoice love doing things ‘our own way,’ and there are a lot of artists out there right now doing the same thing. We came together to celebrate carving your own path: this is Palomino.”

Other acts on the lineup for Palomino Festival include Sierra Hull, Turnpike Troubadours, Orville Peck, Old Crow Medicine Show, Charley Crockett, Paul Cauthen, Nikki Lane, Morgan Wade, Sierra Ferrell, Langhorne Slim, Amythyst Kiah, Low Cut Connie, Jamie Wyatt, Ian Noe, and Logan Ledger, while the Compton Cowboys are also slated to appear. Attendees will also have the opportunity to shop for the perfect vintage outfit for the festival, courtesy of Nikki Lane’s Stage Stop Marketplace.

Palomino Festival is currently offering three tiers for passes: General Admission, VIP, and the exclusive High Life option in limited quantities. Presale begins April 1 at 12:00 pm PST, with any remaining tickets opening to the general public at 4:00 pm on the same day.

Palomino headliner Kacey Musgraves, who released her critically-acclaimed album, Star-Crossed last September, was recently named one of Time magazine’s Women of the Year. The country star is also up for two awards (Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for “Camera Roll)” at this Sunday’s Grammys ceremony.
