Grammy-winning artist Kali Uchis has earned her first No.1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart with her smash hit “telepatía.” To celebrate, Uchis will share an acoustic EP on June 4, featuring pared-back versions of “telepatía” and other tracks from her second studio album, Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞, out now via Interscope.

The album was released to widespread critical acclaim, featuring singles “La Luz” with Jhay Cortez and “Aquí Yo Mando” with Rico Nasty, in addition to appearances by PARTYNEXTDOOR and Jowell & Randy.

Speaking of the album, which is her first Spanish-language project, Uchis told the UK’s Evening Standard: “The album is all Spanish with a few bits here and there in English. That’s just my writing style. I grew up bilingual, speaking Spanglish in my house, so it would be inauthentic to sing completely in Spanish or in English because that’s not how I talk.”

“telepatía,” which Uchis performed last month on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, has accumulated more than 635 million streams across all platforms to date and is No.1 on Billboard’s Latin Digital Song Sales Chart. Additionally, the track remains on several Spotify Top 200 charts and is No.2 at Latin Pop Airplay radio.

Uchis – who won her first Grammy for Best Dance Recording with Kaytranada for “10%” at the 2021 Grammy Awards earlier this year – was nominated for her first Latin American Music Award last month for Favorite Pop Album and was the only female nominated in the category. Additionally, she won “Canción Alternativa Rock/Indie” and “Artista Revelación” at Premios Nuestra Tierra, a Colombian music awards show.

Uchis released a self-directed video for “telepatía” back in March. “The song happened so naturally & I wanted the video to reflect that, kids and animals in the street, all improvisation, nothing overproduced or contrived,” she wrote on Instagram. “Just the beautiful natural magic of the country I have had the honor of also calling home my entire life.”
