While much of the globe was in various stages of lockdown during 2020, TikTok brought people together through dance crazes, poignant moments, and plenty of hilarious memes. To celebrate the end of an unprecedented year, the platform is ringing in 2021 with a star-studded, virtual New Year’s Eve party, that will give viewers at home a chance to look back at some of the year’s most popular videos, and enjoy live music from the likes of Conan Gray, Aly & AJ, Avenue Beat, and Jason Derulo. Hosts Lil Yachty and Brittany Broski kick off the events at 9:30 pm EST on December 31.

A variety of special guests will appear throughout the evening, including Liam Payne, Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, Cardi B, Mick Fleetwood, and Wayne Brady, while additional musical performances will be made by Saweetie, Anitta, Tai Verdes, and Powfu.

Viewers can also expect to enjoy plenty of exclusive creator sketches, special segments for social causes, and much more.

Host Lil Yachty certainly had plenty to celebrate this year, having released his best-selling fourth album, Lil Boat 3. Released in May, the LP landed at No. 14 on the Billboard 200, and featured such guests as Drake, Future, ASAP Rocky, Da Baby, Tyler, the Creator, and Tierra Whack.

The third and final installment in the Lil Boat series, the album included the singles “Split/Whole Time” and “Oprah’s Bank Account,” the latter of which spawned an epic music video. The album also garnered critical acclaim, including from RapReviews, which declared, “Lil Boat 3 finds Yachty syncopating and stretching beyond his naturally baritone voice. He sounds more self-aware than ever, channeling his beloved infectious energy as the main driver for the album.”

In November, the Atlanta MC followed with a deluxe edition, Lil Boat 3.5, which added eight new songs onto the original, 19-track album, and featured contributions from Playboi Carti, Lil Baby, and Vince Staples.
