The 2024 Oscar nominations have been revealed. As was previously expected, Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Barbie were among the most recognized, with Oppenheimer picking up 14 nominations across all major categories, including Best Picture, Director, Lead and Supporting Actor, and Writing.

Killers of the Flower Moon received 10 nominations, including Martin Scorsese for Director, Lily Gladstone for Lead Actress, Robert De Niro for Supporting Actor, and Robbie Robertson for his score. Bradley Cooper’s Maestro also received seven nominations (including Makeup and Hairstyling), while the widely acclaimed The Holdovers picked up five.

In the 2024 Oscars’ music categories, perennial nominee Diane Warren once again made the list with her original song for the Hulu film Flamin’ Hot, while Barbie’s “I’m Just Ken” and the Billie Eilish and Finneas composition “What Was I Made For?” received two slots. The other nominees were Scott George’s “Wahzhazhe (A Song For My People)” from Killers of the Flower Moon and “It Never Went Away,” from the Jon Batiste documentary American Symphony.

In original score, Ludwig Göransson’s work for Oppenheimer will be going up against the music from Flower Moon, Poor Things, American Fiction, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Congratulations to John Williams on his 54th nomination.

The 96th Academy Awards will be handed out on Sunday, March 10. Jimmy Kimmel will once again host the event.
