The one-hour event will broadcast on 26 April on the CTV, CBC, Global Television and Citytv networks, as well as select specialty networks, radio stations, and streaming platforms across Canada. ‘Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble’ will air on English and French services on Sunday evening (at 7:00 pm across all markets/7:30 pm NT).
Along with supporting frontline healthcare workers, viewers will also be encouraged to donate to Food Banks Canada, a charity providing funds and support to food banks across the country.
“Front-line workers, across so many sectors, including food banking, have been drastically impacted by COVID-19,” says Chris Hatch, CEO of Food Banks Canada. “They need our support and we are thankful for Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble for helping our most vulnerable neighbours.”
This special has big shoes to fill, after the ‘One World: Together At Home’ raised over $128 million for the World Health Organisation (WHO) in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
Hosted by late-night giants Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel, the Global Citizen and WHO special featured at-home appearances by Lady Gaga, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, Elton John, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Kacey Musgraves, Alicia Keys, Usher, Eddie Vedder, John Legend, Chris Martin and personal stories from frontline healthcare workers.
