The Weeknd announced he’s rescheduling his highly anticipated ‘The After Hours’ tour until 2021, with the new dates taking place starting in June of 2021, beginning in Canada and taking him through the US and EU with more dates to be announced soon.

“See you when it’s safe,” the R&B crooner wrote on social media, along with an official announcement.

Like so many artists, the Canadian star was forced to postpone his tour due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

The headlining  ‘After Hours’ world tour was initially slated to kick off on 11 June in Vancouver, BC and take him around the globe with 57 stops in US, Canada, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and France with support from Sabrina Claudio, Don Toliver and 88GLAM.

All tickets will be transferrable to the newly scheduled dates and if fans can’t make the show, they will receive an email directly allowing them to request a refund. The only date officially cancelled is New Orleans due to availability.

Four years after his proper studio release in 2016, the Weeknd made his triumphant return to the charts with his fourth LP, After Hours, released on 20 March.

Along with debuting at No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, he also became the first artist to top Billboard’s Hot 100, the Billboard 200, Artist 100, Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers charts simultaneously.

Following the massive success of After Hours, the Weeknd released an expanded version of the album that included three bonus tracks.

Despite his tour being cancelled, the singer has been staying busy, making his debut on the hit animated series American Dad along with teasing a collaborative remix of the After Hours’ track ‘In Your Eyes’, with pop sensation Doja Cat.
