Here’s a new short clip that Steve Hackett has posted showing the British guitar hero and his band in rehearsals for their ‘Acolyte To Wolflight’ tour, which begins at GLive in Guildford, Surrey on 6 October. Hackett will be playing a wide variety of material spanning his entire career, both in his years with Genesis and the long solo career that began with his 1975 album Voyage of the Acolyte.
“We’ll be performing a whole bunch of songs which are old, new and some Genesis things: ‘Can-Utility And The Coastliners,’ ‘Get ‘Em Out By Friday,’ ‘Cinema Show,’ ‘The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway’,” he says. “A whole bunch of things that really haven’t been heard for a very long time.”
The 19-date tour, which runs throughout October, sets up the release on the 16th of the month of the 10 CD, 4 DVD collection Premonitions, which includes no fewer than 67 previously unreleased tracks. It features Hackett’s work for the Charisma label between 1975 and 1983, and has remixes by the current progressive rock figurehead Steven Wilson.
The vast new collection features a substantial new booklet with background information and photographs by Armando Gallo, and a new painting on the cover by the accaimed Roger Dean. You can pre-order your copy of Premonitions by clicking the button below.
