Machine Gun Kelly Announces ‘Vampire Diaries’ Single
Produced by longtime collaborator and friend Travis Barker, the followup to ‘Cliché’ will appear on his sixth album, ‘Lost Americana.’

mgk has released a new single and video for “Vampire Diaries.” The guitar driven track is produced by longtime collaborator and friend Travis Barker and will appear on his sixth album, Lost Americana. The song’s video is directed by Sam Cahill, is set at the American Museum of Natural History and finds the artist dancing through exhibits after dark. Lost Americana is out August 8.
“Vampire Diaries” follows the pop-oriented “Cliché.” mgk also released an acoustic “sad version” of the track. The song’s video, which finds the musician dancing in a car wash, a parking lot, and on a moving truck, features choreography by Sean Bankhead (Usher/Tate McRae) who also worked on the “Vampire Diaries” video.
The trailer for Lost Americana is thought to be narrated by Bob Dylan, though no official credit is given. “It’s a sonic map of forgotten places, a tribute to the spirit of reinvention and a quest to reclaim the essence of American freedom,” the voice says over nostalgic visuals of mgk riding motorcycles and hanging with friends across scenic locales. “From the glow of neon diners to the rumble of the motorcycles, this is music that celebrates the beauty found in the in-between spaces. Where the past is reimagined, and the future is forged on your own terms.”
Earlier this week mgk launched a save the date for his annual mgk Day weekend celebration. The three-day event in Cleveland, Ohio will take place from August 8-10 and honors the musician and actor’s local impact with a star-studded weekend of community events, music, art, and philanthropy.
Lost Americana is the followup to 2022’s Mainstream Sellout, his second album to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The record was nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best Rock Album.”
