The singer’s European tour will now begin on September 1 in Berlin, with his UK leg set to begin at Manchester Arena on October 30.
The renowned singer-songwriter has put his plans on hold as the US remains under lockdown in an attempt to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
The dates will be rescheduled and ticket holders will be alerted to the new dates when they are announced.
The star said: “To celebrate some of the incredible moments we’ve shared with my British fans over the years will be wonderful."
Directed by Russell Mulcahy in 1983, the original film suffered when the director and his camera fell into the ocean off the French coast.
The legendary singer-songwriter perform farewell gigs in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Leeds.
The book will be issued in October 2019 and will be published by Macmillan’s Henry Holt & Co.
