Kendrick Lamar And SZA’s ‘Luther’ Joins Spotify’s Billions Club
The 2024 single from the tourmates has been a chart-topping staple since its release.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “luther” is the latest track to join Spotify’s Billions Club, which celebrates songs that have eclipsed more than one billion views on the streaming platform. This marks K.Dot’s 11th song to reach this milestone.
“luther,” one of many standouts from Kendrick’s surprise 2024 album GNX, topped the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart for 13 consecutive weeks. As of publishing date, the song is still at number five on the chart and remains at No.1 on the Hip-Hop/R&B chart, where it has reigned for 26 weeks in that position.
The song features a vocal sample of Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn’s 1982 rendition of “If This World Were Mine,” originally performed by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. The song won the 2025 BET Award for Best Collaboration.
The accompanying visual for the track features Lamar and his former TDE labelmate and is directed by Karena Evans via Lamar and Dave Free’s pgLang. Evans previously directed videos for Drake’s “God’s Plan,” “Nice for What” and “In My Feelings,” as well as SZA’s Donald Glover collaboration “Garden (Say It Like That).”
In addition to the charts, Kendrick and SZA also recently took over the national touring spotlight. The duo are currently on pause from their “Grand National” Tour, having recently completed the highly successful North American leg of the tour, which kicked off on April 19 in Minneapolis. The tour will continue in the UK and Europe leg beginning on July 2 in Cologne.
