Cheap Trick Interview

Cheap Trick’s latest album, We’re All Alright!, more than lives up to its title. “It sounds like we’re out of control,” songwriter and lead guitarist, Rick Nielsen, tells uDiscover. Indeed, 44 years into their career, the band are still firing on all cylinders, drawing on a wide range of influences to make something uniquely Cheap Trick.

“We were always kind of heavy – we were pop, but we had elements of everything, That’s what music’s about. We never wanted to be one thing,” Nielsen says. “If we have to make it ourselves, we do it – we put our own money into it. But it’s worth it to make a record. That’s why we’re here.”
