Bastille has shared a new video for “Shut Off The Lights,” in which the band celebrates the power and euphoria of human connection.

The video, which was directed by Three Shades, finds people disconnecting from their devices, unplugging from their digital “inner verses” and reconnecting with the real world, whether in the park or in the office. The visuals reach a giddy crescendo with an impromptu office party, featuring the band playing some of the dancing workers.

“We wanted to make something that reflected the euphoria and the fun of the song,” frontman Dan Smith said in a press release. “The track is a moment of humanity, normality, and intimacy on the album, so a video celebrating small funny moments in the day seemed to make sense. Plus, it just makes us want to dance, so it seemed only right to get that in there too.”

“Shut Off The Lights” will feature on Bastille’s upcoming fourth album, Give Me The Future, which will be released on February 4. The record explores a futuristic wonderland free from restrictions – each song a different danceable dreamscape, a place where you can travel back and forward in time to be anyone, do anything, and embrace a new wave of technology, which enables us to get lost inside our imagination.

To celebrate the release of the record, the band will perform a series of intimate outstore shows across the UK, in partnership with the UK’s independent record stores. Then in April, the band will return to arenas for the first leg of their ‘Give Me The Future’ tour (with many dates already sold out) before heading out to the US for dates in May and June.

Last year, Bastille shared more singles from Give Me The Future including the escape-driven “Thelma + Louise,” the poignant “No Bad Days,” and the Ryan Tedder-produced, metallic synth-filled track “Distorted Light Beam.”
