The Beatles chose very good covers, many of which benefitted from nightly reworkings on a grimy stage in Hamburg. By the time it came to recording these songs, they were such a tight unit that they easily made these songs nearly their own. Oh, and they were wise to pass on How Do You Do It? A fine hit for Gerry and the Pacemakers, but not one for the Fabs to waste time on.

Have a listen to 3 of Paul Overstreet’s songs; 1) Takes a whole lot of liquor to like her 2) She ain’t at home on the range 3) I think she only loves me for my Willie.
