Costello Autobiography Due This Autumn

Published on

Elvis Costello’s autobiography, ‘Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink,’ will be published worldwide this autumn, it was confirmed today, as the front cover image above was also revealed.

The memoir has been entirely written by the great British singer-songwriter himself, and publishers for it will include Blue Rider Press in North America, Viking (Great Britain and Commonwealth), Bruna (Holland), Berlin Verlag (Germany) and Norstedts (Sweden).

The book, according to today’s publicity statement, will offer his “unique view of his unlikely and sometimes comical rise to international success, with diversions through the previously undocumented emotional foundations of some of his best known songs and the hits of tomorrow.”

‘Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink’ will also include a wealth of stories and observations about Costello’s well-known co-writers and co-conspirators, and he “also pauses along the way for considerations on the less appealing side of infamy.” Always one of the most articulate writers of his generation, he will give his unique view on his unlikely and sometimes comical rise to international success.
