ABC and MRC Live & Alternative have announced the lineup for the 2022 Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest special featuring appearances from LL Cool J, Karol G, Billy Porter, Journey, and more. The show will air on December 31 via ABC hosted by Seacrest and Liza Koshy.
Performing from Times Square in New York City along with Karol G, Journey, and Chlöe, LL Cool J will recap the greatest hits of his career with a special performance that spans decades. The multi-hyphenate was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and will be ending the eventful year on a high note.
Appearing from New Orleans for Central Time Zone countdown coverage, Billy Porter will host and perform from the Louis Armstrong riverboat on the Mississippi River in the French Quarter. The historic location will become home to a performance of the musician and actor’s new single.
Over in Los Angeles, Ciara will host the countdown with appearances from Avril Lavigne and Travis Barker, Big Boi and Sleepy Brown, Don Omar, French Montana, Macklemore with Ryan Lewis, and Windset, Maneskin, MaskedWolf, OneRepublic, Mae Muller, Polo G, and more.
In a special Spanish-language countdown from Puerto Rico, reggaetón star Daddy Yankee will deliver a knockout hometown performance in San Juan. It will mark the first-ever Spanish-language countdown on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, which will also be celebrating its 50th year. It will be hosted by Puerto Rican actress and singer Roselyn Sanchez.
The No.1 New Year’s Eve programming special each year, last year’s program dominated the combined deliveries of its broadcast competitors by 7.0 million Total Viewers and by 63% with Adults 18-49. Soaring by double digits year over year, last year’s late-night telecast attracted 18.4 million Total Viewers and ranked as the highest-rated musical special of 2020 among Adults 18-49.
