Keb’ Mo’, Dierks Bentley, Bobby Bare, and Connie Smith will be inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame at an April 5 ceremony at Music City Walk of Fame Park in Nashville.

The inductions take the total of honorees in the Walk of Fame to 93 in its 16-year history, and the event will be first ceremony by the organization in over two years, due to pandemic restrictions.

Ed Hardy, chairman of Music City Inc., said in a statement: “We are proud to bring back a Music City Walk of Fame ceremony with such a distinguished and diverse group of inductees who span various genres and eras of music. The individuals in the Walk of Fame remind us of Nashville’s rich history as Music City, and we congratulate the newest four members.”

All four new inductees – current country star Bentley, blues-Americana ace Keb’ Mo’, and country trailblazers Bare and Smith – will be at the 2022 event, sponsored by Gibson, to unveil their stars embedded in the walkway. The Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp., which oversees the Music City Walk of Fame, says that inductees are recognized for their “significant contributions to preserving the musical heritage of Nashville and for contributing to the world through song.”

Each honoree is commemorated with a large stainless steel and terrazzo star embedded in the sidewalk in Walk of Fame Park, which is situated on Nashville’s downtown Music Mile between the Country Music Hall of Fame, Bridgestone Arena, and Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

In addition to honoring dozens of country heroes such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, and Kris Kristofferson, other artists from outside the world of country have also been recognized for their local connections, including Peter Frampton, Sam Moore, and Jack White. The last inductees, in October 2019, were Lady A, Clint Black, Mac McAnally, and, posthumously, Chet Atkins and DeFord Bailey.
