Diana Ross has broken Glastonbury home viewing records for the festival’s Legends slot, surpassing 2019’s performance by Australian pop star Kylie Minogue.

TV audience numbers for the Grammy-winning singer’s Sunday afternoon slot on June 26 overtook Minogue’s original record-holding audience average of three million from BBC One’s broadcast.

According to UK’s Universal Music Operations Limited, Ross’ overnight average audience figure reached 3.1 million.

Other artists at the festival included Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar, Olivia Rodrigo, and more. The festival, which was canceled for the last two years, made its return with McCartney as Saturday night headliner – his second time atop the Pyramid stage, having performed in 2004 – and Pulitzer prize-winning rapper Lamar, who made his debut at the festival to close the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night.

Billie Eilish also made her second appearance at Worthy Farm in Somerset on the Pyramid stage. Eilish was among a strong pop presence at the festival, with Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Charli XCX, and Caroline Polachek all appearing.

The festival featured debut sets from Herbie Hancock, Phoebe Bridgers, Sam Fender, Turnstile, TLC, Wet Leg, and Yves Tumor.

Other acts included Kacey Musgraves, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Pet Shop Boys, Foals, Haim, Lorde, and Robert Plant, who will appear alongside Alison Krauss.

Festival organizer Emily Eavis said: “It really is so exciting to be back. And it feels like we all need it. Everywhere I go, people tell me how much they’re looking forward to the festival’s return and how they’ve all been waiting for it. This will be our first Glastonbury for three years. It’s the biggest buildup we’ve ever had!”

At the end of last month, Ross and Tame Impala’s recent collaboration received the video treatment. “Turn Up The Sunshine” was released in May and is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming Minions: The Rise Of Gru – a new action-comedy from the biggest animated franchise in history.

The video stars the Minions dancing and lip-syncing along to the euphoric melodies in front of psychedelic prints and neon-lit graphics.
