2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

The 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been revealed. Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Soundgarden, and the White Stripes will join the esteemed league of musicians. Other inductees include Joe Cocker, Bad Company, and Chubby Checker. The announcement was made during Sunday’s “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night” episode of American Idol, with host Ryan Seacrest announcing the inductees during a themed episode.

Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon were named as the recipients of this year’s Musical Influence Award, which celebrates artists whose work has made a direct impact on the evolution of rock and roll or inspired the genre’s leading artists. The Musical Excellence Award will go to legendary Philly Soul producer Thom Bell, known for his work with Delfonics, the Stylistics, and the Spinners; session musician Carole Kaye, a member of the Wrecking Crew who played on the Beach Boys’ “Good Vibrations” and Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’”; and studio keyboardist Nicky Hopkins, known for his work with the Rolling Stones, the Who, and other British Invasion acts. DreamWorks Records co-founder Lenny Waronker will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will broadcast live from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on November 8 via Disney+. It will be available to stream on Hulu the next day and will re-air on ABC at a later date.

The full ballot of 2025 nominees featured Cyndi Lauper, Oasis, Outkast, Phish, The White Stripes, Soundgarden, Joe Cocker, Chubby Checker, Mariah Carey, The Black Crowes, Billy Idol, Bad Company, Joy Division/New Order, and Mana.

Last year’s inductees were Mary J. Blige, Peter Frampton, A Tribe Called Quest, Foreigner, Kool & The Gang, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band, with posthumous recognition for Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Alexis Korner, John Mayall, Norman Whitfield and Big Mama Thornton.
