In winning the prize, the influential electronic music duo triumphed from a shortlist also including Tame Impala’s 'The Slow Rush'.
The AMP's organizers said this year's nine finalists represent a “wide and diverse pool of talent from right around the country.”
The track also features on the duo's new album, 'We Will Always Love You', which is out now through Astralwerks.
The December 19 performance will be streamed three times across three time zones.
The album features collaborations with Johnny Marr, MGMT, Karen O, Perry Farrell, Denzel Curry and many more.
The album was inspired by the love affair between Ann Druyan and Carl Sagan, whose writings and TV programs brought the ever-deepening mysteries of astronomy and astrophysics to the mass audience.
Both song feature on the band’s new album, We Will Always Love You, due out on Astralwerks on December 11.
