Plain White T’s Announce 15th Anniversary Reissue Of ‘All That We Needed’
The best-selling band are celebrating the 15th-anniversary of their breakthrough album, “All That We Needed”.
Plain White T’s have just released a new lyric video for their No.1 hit single, ‘Hey There Delilah’, as they celebrate the 15th-anniversary of their breakthrough album, All That We Needed. Additionally, the band will reissue an expanded edition of the album on 10 April, featuring five, previously-unreleased acoustic tracks.
The lyric video, which premiered earlier today, complements the ballad with charming, black and white animated drawings. Originally released in 2006, ‘Hey There Delilah’ was the third single off All That We Needed. As the song gained popularity among fans, the band re-recorded the tune, augmenting it with strings from cellist Eric Remschneider, and reissuing it 2007.
The single rose swiftly up the charts – becoming one of the biggest songs of the summer, and peaking at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song also hit No.1 in Canada, No.2 in the UK, and entered the Top Ten in territories around the world. In 2008, ‘Hey There Delilah’ was nominated for two Grammy Awards (Song of the Year, Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal), and has since gone on to sell over four million copies in the US alone
The third album from Plain White T’s, All That We Needed found the Chicago five-piece working with producers Ariel Rechtshaid (HAIM, Vampire Weekend, Usher) and Loren Israel (Jimmy Eat World, Less Than Jake, Sugarcult), to explore new sonic textures, and expand beyond their emo and pop-punk roots. This new, 15th-anniversary edition features the original, infectious tunes, plus five previously-unreleased acoustic renditions of the album’s songs, including ‘Hey There Delilah’, ‘Revenge’, ‘Breakdown’, ‘Take Me Away’, and ‘All That We Needed’.
Most recently, the band had been gearing up for an extensive tour of the UK and Europe, set to kick off at the end of March. Following suit with numerous acts around the world, the group cancelled those dates, in light of the global COVID-19 crisis, while their forthcoming appearances in the US have been postponed. In the meantime, following suit with artists around the globe, the band have been taking to socials for performances and live chats with their followers.
Fans can also catch Plain White T’s on ABC’s newest addition to the hit Bachelor franchise, The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart. The band’s episode will air Monday, 13 April at 8:00 pm EST / 7:00 pm PST on ABC.
