STAGE+ Presents Seong-Jin Cho Live From Carnegie Hall
The Korean pianist will perform Maurice Ravel’s complete piano works from the iconic New York venue ahead of an album of the same material.

STAGE+ has announced their next livestream performance. On February 5, Seong-Jin Cho will play Ravel’s complete piano works from Carnegie Hall. Replays of the Korean pianist’s performance will be available on the concert page.
Seong-Jin Cho came to worldwide prominence in 2015 when he won First Prize at the Warsaw International Chopin Competition. He was the first South Korean pianist to achieve this feat. Since then, Cho signed with Deutsche Grammophon and has released a number of albums including performances of works by Debussy, Mozart, and Handel.
Listen to Seong-Jin Cho’s Ravel: The Complete Solo Piano Works now.
Cho’s latest album, Ravel: The Complete Solo Piano Works, is out now. Cho has loved the French composer since childhood and studied his work at the Paris Conservatoire. The recording marks the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth. “Ravel really knew what he wanted, so I try to follow his specific markings,” said Cho. “I’ve always been fascinated by the ideas, colours and emotions to be found in Ravel’s music, and it has been an honour to record his complete solo piano works and concertos.”
A previous performance of Cho playing Ravel before an audience at Berlin’s Siemens-Villa is available to watch now on STAGE+. The Carnegie Hall performance will be available on demand afterward as well.
The world’s oldest record label, Deutsche Grammophon, launched STAGE+, a classical music subscription service, in 2022. Every year it presents over 50 livestreams from the world’s most renowned festivals, concert halls, and opera houses. It also has an extensive archive of historic performances, exclusive interviews, documentaries, and music videos featuring the label’s artists.
STAGE+ celebrated the reopening of Paris’ Notre Dame cathedral with a star-studded concert that featured Pharell Williams, LANG LANG, Angélique Kidjo, Gustavo Dudamel, Mario Cotillard and more. STAGE+ screened the historic concert, which occurred with support from the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
Last summer, the platform highlighted three of Europe’s largest classical summer festivals, Bayreuth, Salzburg and Verbier.
Tune into the stream on February 5th here.
