Best-selling country artist Josh Turner has announced his first-ever live-stream concert. The intimate, hybrid show will air live from Nashville’s Ole Red on March 5, in front of a socially-distanced audience.
Sessions Live will broadcast the event, and is offering several ticketed options, in addition to general admission. Through the Deluxe Ticket Bundle, fans can join a virtual pre-party, which will feature a Q&A session and exclusive, five-song acoustic performance. Holders of the VIP ticket bundle, meanwhile, will also have access to a virtual one-on-one meet and greet with Turner.
“Because of platforms like Sessions Live, myself and all artists have the unique opportunity to connect with fans on an intimate and genuine level – all over the world,” said Turner in a statement. “We’ve all had to cancel tour dates not only domestically but internationally as well. I’m thankful for the people who understand the tech side of things and continue to present opportunities for artists to connect with fans and continue to do what we love during these times.”
As one of the youngest Grand Ole Opry inductees, Turner has become a force to be reckoned with in Nashville. Over the years, he has sold more than eight million units and topped more than three billion in global streaming.
On his latest, critically acclaimed release, Country State of Mind, Turner pays tribute to his “Mount Rushmore of Country Music,” covering songs by Randy Travis, John Anderson, Johnny Cash, Vern Gosdin, and Hank Williams among others.
“I’ve always said that any song you hear coming from my voice, you’re going to hear bits and pieces of those five guys,” said Turner in an earlier statement. “They taught me how to be Josh Turner.”
Travis and Anderson both appear on the 12-track album, which also features contributions by Maddie & Tae, Runaway June, Allison Moorer, and Kris Kristofferson, among others.
