Taylor Swift Shares New, One-Take Video For ‘Delicate’
Over two weeks after releasing the original video for Delicate, Taylor Swift has shared a new, self-shot visual accompaniment for her Reputation hit, which can be viewed here.
The original video for ‘Delicate’ featured Swift channelling Britney Spears’ ‘Lucky’ as she pined for an escape from immense fame. She gets her wish with a little bit of magical, unexplained luck that allows her to invisibly dance her way from her ritzy hotel to a dive bar to meet with a loved one. The music video was shot over two nights and features historic landmarks including the Los Angeles Theatre and Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
Premiering exclusively on Spotify at midnight on Friday, the new minimalist footage shows the singer filming the video in a single take as she belts out the lyrics to her song in in a wooded area. She even gives a nod to actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn as she points to the necklace which has the initial “J” on it and has been previously worn by her since the summer.
The new Delicate video release comes less than three weeks after Swift released the original music video at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Since it premiered, the project directed by Joseph Kahn has reportedly received more than 78 million views on YouTube alone. Kahn has directed all of Swift’s videos for her Reputation era. Most recently, she had been jet-setting around the world with Future and Ed Sheeran in the clip for ‘End Game.’
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is all set to launch her Reputation world tour this May in Glendale, Arizona. Camila Cabello and Charli XCX will be her opening acts on the trek. As of now, her world tour is set to end on 9 November in New Zealand, almost one year to the day since she released her sixth album.
