Ahead of The 36th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, The Ed Sullivan Show’s YouTube channel is spotlighting a collection of former show guests who went on to be inducted in the Hall of Fame themselves with a stacked playlist of appearances. The ceremony airs Saturday, November 20 via HBO and HBO Max at 8 p.m.

The Ed Sullivan Show Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees playlist features 55 videos of iconic performances from the classic series’ 23-year primetime run, encapsulated between 1948 and 1971.

The videos highlight iconic performances from James Brown, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lewis, Marvin Gaye, The Beatles, The Byrds, Bobby Darin, The Animals, The Jackson 5 and more.

Among the inductees of 2021 is Tina Turner, who electrified rock’n’roll and soul both with Ike & Tina Turner Revue and as a prolific solo artist. The explosive duo made such enduring hits as “River Deep–Mountain High,” “Proud Mary” and “Nutbush City Limits.” Here they are performing “Proud Mary” on The Ed Sullivan Show on January 11, 1970.

The Beach Boys snagged three slots on the playlist. The first finds the group performing “I Get Around” in September 1964. They returned four years later in October 1968 for a double performance of “Do It Again” and “Good Vibrations.”

20 years later, The Beach Boys were inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Elton John. 1998 also saw the induction of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Supremes and more influence-bearing artists.

The Ed Sullivan Show playlist also highlights appearances from The Temptations. Remastered in high definition, one video from November 1967 finds the Motown vocal group performing a medley of hits with Diana Ross and the Supremes. The performance combined “Get Ready,” “Stop! In The Name of Love,” “My Guy,” “Baby Love” and “(I Know) I’m Losing You.”

The Temptations were inducted in 1989 by Daryl Hall and John Oates. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 1989 also featured Otis Redding, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder and more.

The Ed Sullivan Show’s official YouTube channel receives new uploads on a regular basis highlighting a vast catalog of performers and iconic clips that are hard to come by in such great quality elsewhere – some are rarities that have been made available digitally for the first time.
