A big new country music collaboration is unveiled today (13) in Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard’s “Undivided.” The combination of three-time Grammy-winner and CMA Entertainer of the Year McGraw with Hubbard, of American Music Award, ACM and CMA Award-winners Florida Georgia Line, has arrived at country radio and on all streaming services.
The heartfelt track is accompanied by an official behind-the-scenes music video of the friends in the studio. “Undivided” will be added to the deluxe version of McGraw’s chart-topping Here On Earth, which will be out later this spring on Big Machine Records. The album came out last August following McGraw’s return to the label.
Hubbard co-wrote “Undivided” with Chris Loocke, and the artists co-produced the banjo and acoustic guitar-driven track with Corey Crowder and Byron Gallimore. It grew out of a soul-searching time he spent on his bus while in COVID-19 quarantine. He looked again at the values he was raised with, and turned to his faith for guidance and inspiration. It was a process that led him to a new positivity and a song to match.
“I knew immediately when I finished it, I had to text it to Tim,” says Hubbard. “He has a way of communicating with the world that is unique in music. For him to want to perform with me was an amazing feeling. The song is about coming together, and that’s exactly what we did.”
Adds McGraw: “Music gives us hope and brings us together in a way nothing else can. This doesn’t mean we don’t have work to do. Quite the opposite. I loved the positivity of this song and that it called me to check myself and to remember that love is bigger. It’s why I knew this song had to be my next single with Tyler as soon as he sent it to me.”
