Kali Uchis Announces Arena Tour In Support Of New Album ‘Sincerely,’
The pop star will begin the run on August 14 in Portland, Oregon.
Kali Uchis has announced that she’ll be hitting the road in support of her recently-released fifth studio album, Sincerely, which is out now via Capitol Records. The Sincerely, Tour—a 24-city North American headline arena run—begins on August 14 in Portland, OR, at Moda Center. Uchis will visit major cities like Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Toronto, and Chicago among others, before concluding on September 25 at Ball Arena in Denver, CO.
Joining Uchis on all dates are Thee Sacred Souls, the 11-piece band from San Diego whose vintage sound have earned them a devoted fanbase. Tickets will be available starting with various presales beginning Wednesday, May 14 at 10 AM local time. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale beginning Friday, May 16 at 10 AM local time via Kali Uchis’ official website.
Sincerely, which was released on May 9, is an album that Uchis considers her most intimate and vulnerable body of work to date. The 14-track record is a testament to the healing wonders of deep love, and a stunning encapsulation of the way details her world in song format.
Written and executive produced by Uchis, Sincerely, arrived alongside an official music video for single “All I Can Say.” The visual is a cinematic performance piece directed by Bethany Vargas, inspired by classic film noir and the 1950’s, cleverly setting the stage for Uchis to morph into a golden age movie star.
In a recent interview with the AP, Uchis spoke about the origins of the project, particularly how she arrived at Sincerely, for the album title. She explained: “At one point, I was like, ‘I’m gonna make sure each of these songs is like, this is my letter to the world, this is my letter to this person, this my letter to that, this one to myself.’ I tried to really conceptualize in a different way that I never have when making any other album. And then … when my mom passed, a lot of what I had left from her is letters that she wrote to me, and so it ended up, like I said, just more and more reasons for me to realize that it was the correct title for the project.”
