The third studio album from the project led by Florence Welch became their third consecutive No.1 album in the UK upon release in 2015. It also peaked at No.1 on the US Billboard Chart and in Australia, Canada, Switzerland and in the top 10 for most releasing territories. The album features the singles “Ship To Wreck,” “What Kind of Man,” “Queen of Peace,” and “Delilah.” How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful earned five Grammy Award nominations and was shortlisted for the 2015 Mercury Prize.

How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful was produced by Markus Dravs (Björk, Arcade Fire, Coldplay), with other contributions from Paul Epworth, Kid Harpoon, John Hill and others.

“I guess although I’ve always dealt in fantasy and metaphor when I came to writing, that meant the songs this time were dealing much more in reality,” Welch said of the album at the time of release. “Ceremonials was so fixated on death and water, and the idea of escape or transcendence through death, but the new album became about trying to learn how to live, and how to love in the world rather than trying to escape from it. Which is frightening because I’m not hiding behind anything but it felt like something I had to do.”

Last year, Florence + the Machine performed at Royal Albert Hall alongside Jules Buckley and his Orchestra for a performance celebrating 15 years of her seminal debut album Lungs. The performance was later released as a live album, Symphony of Lungs (BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall).
