Rising Rapper Gelo Has Released His Debut Album, ‘League Of My Own’
The record features his viral single, ‘Tweaker.’

Rising rapper Gelo has released his full-length debut album, League of My Own. The artist otherwise known as LiAngelo Ball made the transition from basketball player to rapper in the past year, and has already seen some major success. His debut album arrives following his deal with Def Jam, which was born of the success of his certified gold single “Tweaker.”
League of My Own features 13-tracks, including “Tweaker,” “Can You Please” (feat. GloRilla), “Law N Order,” and Gelo’s latest hit, “Booted Up.” He recently premiered the album’s opening track “POLLASEEDS” on Twitch superstar Kai Cenat’s channel. Clips show the group vibing to the beat, before the chorus culminates with the chant “Bitch I’m from the West Coast.”
While the former NBA G-League player pivoted from sports to music, his brothers Lonzo and LaMelo still play for the Cavaliers and the Hornets, respectively. Gelo featured both of them in the music video for “Tweaker,” which was in part propelled to success by its popularity in the sports world.
Lil Wayne hopped on the remix to the breakout hit, and Def Jam won Gelo’s record deal following numerous alleged offers from other labels. “Def Jam was the most excited,” Gelo shared with Billboard. “They had the best deal for real. They wasn’t just talking. They was ready to cooperate with us.”
Gelo has found success with old school rap vibes, and cites DMX, 50 Cent, Ludacris, Nelly, and Ice Cube among his inspirations. Though his rap career is just beginning, he’s been writing for a long time: “I didn’t record nothing until I was 18, 19,” he explained. “Before that, I wrote my first rap in the 3rd grade in my little notebook.”
When asked what his goal for 2025 was, Gelo didn’t mince words: “Probably to have the biggest album out and be one of the biggest rappers. The top rapper. Tap into that new stuff.”
