Meduza, Becky Hill And Goodboys’ ‘Lose Control’ Hits Billion Spotify Streams
A big hit on release in 2019, the song peaked at No. 11 in the U.K. and No. 2 on Billboard’s Dance Club chart in the U.S.

“Lose Control,” the 2019 collaboration between MEDUZA, Becky Hill and Goodboys has now been streamed one billion times on Spotify.
A popular radio hit on release, the song reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart in addition to going to No. 2 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs in the U.S. It also features on MEDUZA’s self-titled album, released in October 2023. On release, the song was promoted with an atmospheric music video filmed in Burj al Babas: a ghost village in Turkey designed to house shopping malls and spa complexes which remained unfinished when the company constructing it went bankrupt.
“Lose Control” is MEDUZA’s second song to reach a billion streams on Spotify, following 2019’s Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum selling “Piece Of Your Heart,” for which the Italian production duo also collaborated with the English duo Goodboys. At present, Becky Hill’s second most popular track on Spotify, her David Guetta collaboration “Remember” has notched up over half a billion streams.
In a 2019 interview with Celeb Mix, MEDUZA revealed more about the background to “Lose Control. “We wanted to keep the same mood and same signature of the MEDUZA style for the follow up [to “Piece Of Your Heart”],” they said. “But with a step more with something little bit more radio friendly – but in a house way, trying not to end in a classic pop dance track.”
In the same interview, MEDUZA explained why they wanted to work with Becky Hill. “She’s massive and [we’re] a big fan of her voice,” they said. “Luckily, we’re working for the same label and we had the chance to jump on a studio session with her. We showed her a chorus idea we made with Goodboys, and she was immediately into the mood, writing verses and pre-chorus; we closed the track in just one day!”
